Jenifer Vanderhorst is a veteran Licensed Esthetician, Medical Esthetician, and Esthetics Instructor with over two decades of clinical and creative experience. A true Charleston native, Jenifer’s career began in the high-pressure world of editorial makeup with MAC Cosmetics. There, she honed her craft working alongside elite agencies like Ford and Wilhelmina Models, cultivating a deep appreciation for the brand's core philosophy: all ages, all races, and all genders.

In 2003, Jenifer transitioned her expertise from the set to the treatment room, eventually opening her signature boutique, Plush Brows & Beauty. It was here that her technical fascination with depilatory science began. After years of analyzing ingredient decks and testing industry standards, Jenifer recognized a significant gap between mass produced wax and the specific needs of professional estheticians.

This realization birthed Waxed By An Esthetician, a brand built on transparency and clinical integrity. Unlike many private label brands, Jenifer’s collections are custom formulated under her direct supervision, prioritizing skin nourishing ingredients and omitting harsh abrasives. Today, she combines her roles as an educator and founder to empower the next generation of beauty professionals with high performance products and "wisdom earned" through twenty years at the treatment table.
